The setup
Unfold it on the back seat
Take it out of the bag and spread it across the bench. The airflow mesh faces the front of the car.
Loop the headrest straps
Pull up a flap and put the straps around the headrest. Press the lobster clasp open and hook it through the metal ring until it snaps shut. Four headrests, two flaps, four clasps.
Zip the protector flaps
Each door flap zips twice, once to the front flap and once to the back. Four zips in total.
Thread the door straps
Run one door strap through the inside door pull handle in the roof, on each side. If your car has a coat hook there instead, use that.
Clip them to the flaps
Hook the lobster clasps of those door straps onto the rings in the door flaps. Both sides, four clasps.
Fit the seatbelt
Push the seatbelt's metal flap into your car's buckle, then clip the clasp to the ring on your dog's harness.
Take a short first trip
Somewhere familiar, before a long drive. If your dog gets nervous, unclip and try again later. This is about getting comfortable, not rushing.
Always attach the tether to a harness, never to a collar.

Will it fit my car?
The cover is 54 inches side to side, 24.8 inches from back to front, and 22 inches up the sides. Measure your back bench and compare. It suits most cars, trucks and SUVs, in both four and five seat layouts.
My bench is wider than 54 inches
A side gap is normal and does not affect stability, since the hard bottom carries the weight and the straps hold position. Slide the cover toward the door your dog uses. If your dog can slip down into the gap, send us your measurements.
Is it strong enough for a big dog?
The reinforced hard bottom supports up to 400 pounds, so several dogs or one large one is fine. The shell is 600D Oxford cloth and fully waterproof.
The straps keep loosening
Feed the loose end back through the buckle a second time so it locks against itself. A single pass slips under load.
It slides forward
Usually the door straps. Check both are through the pull handle and clipped to the flap rings, then retighten the headrest straps.
No rear headrests
Rely on the front straps and both door straps, and check them before each trip. No pull handle or coat hook either? Talk to us before using it.
A clasp will not reach
Check the strap is not crossed with its neighbour. Raising the headrest a notch makes the loop easier to seat, then lower it again.
Looking after it
Washing. Rinse off dirt or sand as needed. Machine wash gentle, air dry.
Storage. Take the hard panels out before folding the cover into the travel bag. Storing it folded around the panels creases the same line every time.
Replacements. If a strap or clasp gives out, email us and we will send a new one.
Warranty. One year against defects in materials or workmanship. If something breaks under normal use we repair or replace it. Non transferable.
