How to Measure Your Dog for the Right Wheelchair Size
Important: Measure your dog while they are standing naturally on a flat surface. All measurements on this page are in inches.
|
Quick checklist before you measure
|
1. Back Height
Where to measure: Measure from the ground straight up to the highest point of your dog’s back, near the hips.
Avoid: Measuring while sitting or to the middle of the back.
2. Body Length
Where to measure: Measure along your dog’s body from the chest area to the base of the tail.
Avoid: Measuring too far forward (neck) or too far back (tail tip).
3. Hip Width
Where to measure: Measure across the widest part of your dog’s hips.
Avoid: Measuring around the hips like a belt instead of straight across.

Fit tip: The wheelchair should feel supportive but not restrictive. If you are between sizes, sizing up is usually more comfortable and easier to adjust. |
